Covid 19

I think I'm fairly safe in saying that Covid 19 is going to be with us for the foreseeable future. I also believe that the fear that has been created around this virus is as damaging to the lives and well being of the public as the virus itself. (By the way, I can help with that. Health anxiety is more common than you might think) As the science advances and we get used to living with this virus, the fear will subside and there will be an acceptance that it is just another aspect of life. Until Covid 19 appeared we were probably largely unaware of the fact that influenza related illnesses are responsible for around half a million deaths worldwide each year. It certainly didn't consume a large percentage of our waking thought each day. Perhaps it would if we had daily infection and death rates announced to us. Interesting isn't it?

Fortunately, most of us will not have to deal with the loss of a loved one as a result of this virus. For those that do, you have my sympathies. I have experience of helping people with the negative emotions around grief and loss should you need me. Some, such as NHS and care home workers may have had to face some traumatic experiences that play on the mind. This is a form of PTSD, and I have helped many people overcome this quite quickly. Whatever your mental and emotional needs, I am here to help.

Many businesses have now had to make some changes to the way they work and interact with their customers, and I am no different. Currently, I am able to see clients face to face, although I do try and conduct most of my initial consultations by phone. When you do visit in person, I would ask that you wear a face mask until you are seated in my therapy room. I will take your temperature at the door with a non contact thermopile (gun) type thermometer which measures the temperature of your forehead. I will also insist that you use hand sanitiser. Please can you also bring your own refreshments such as bottled water. I will ensure that all touch points are cleansed before your arrival and after your departure. For those of you that would prefer an online session, I have been conducting online therapy sessions successfully for the last 3 years. All you need is a good internet connection, a pair of headphones, and a tablet, laptop, pc, or even a smartphone, and we're good to go. Send me a message or give me a call if you want further details.

Finally, I want to say something about session fees, although this is already mentioned on my fees page. There will be those of you who would really like my help, but are struggling financially as a result of the impact the virus has had on your income. I have never ever turned anyone away because of money. (Commitment is something else) I will always be able to negotiate something that you can afford. Just ask.
